Good experience with new Astra

I recently purchased an Astra Plug-in Hybrid. The ordering process on the Vauxhall website was straightforward; I could configure the model and review options easily. Delivery took about 4 weeks, which was within the estimated timeframe given during the purchase. The dealership contact was helpful throughout, providing updates without me having to chase them. Quality of the car seems solid, and the hybrid system works as described, making my commute much more efficient. The infotainment system is user-friendly, and connecting my phone was seamless.

Love my new Movano Electric!

I finally got my new Movano Electric and it's brilliant! I was a bit nervous about switching to electric for my business, but this van is perfect. The cargo space is huge, and it charges up really fast at my depot. The range is more than enough for my daily routes, even with a full load. This is going to save me a ton on fuel. I'm already telling my colleagues they need to check these out!

Snagged a decent deal on Grandland

I was in the market for an SUV and checked out the Grandland. I kept an eye out for offers and managed to get a good deposit contribution on a Grandland Plug-in Hybrid. It wasn't advertised as a 'code' but was applied at the point of configuration, which was nice. The total cost felt reasonable for a hybrid SUV, especially with the current fuel prices. Felt like I got good value for my money, even if I had to do a bit of research to find the best offer. The car itself is comfortable.

Got my Corsa, it's cute!

I ordered a Corsa online, and it was pretty easy. The site let me pick out the color and everything. Picked it up at the dealer a week later, no big fuss. It drives well, just like I needed for getting around town. Happy with it.

what's the deal with their lead times for new cars? ordered an Astra a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard much. how long does it usually take to get delivered?

D Dana 1 month ago
It really depends on the model and current demand. My friend ordered a Corsa Electric a few months back and it took about 4-5 months. Astra might be quicker, but supply chains are still a bit hit and miss everywhere. You should probably chase them up.

I think they say it can vary a lot. I remember reading somewhere it can be anywhere from a few weeks to several months for some models. Best to just call your dealer for an update, they'll have the most accurate info.

Are those deposit contributions they advertise real, or is it just marketing fluff? Saw something about 0% APR too.

N Noor 1 month ago
Oh, they're definitely real! I got a decent chunk off my deposit for my Corsa last September when they had one of those deals. It's usually tied to their finance options, so you'd need to go with their PCP or HP.

Yeah, the deposit contributions are legit. They usually range from 500 quid to a few grand depending on the model and if it's a new plate month like March or Sept. The 0% APR is also usually tied to specific finance products and might mean less flexibility on other discounts, but it's not fake.

Thinking of getting a Corsa, but also looking at the Fiesta. Anyone got thoughts on which is better for city driving and parking?

P Priya 1 month ago
Corsa is pretty nimble for city stuff. I had one as my first car, super easy to parallel park. Ford Fiesta is good too, but I always found the Corsa felt a bit more spacious inside for its size.

My mate has a new Corsa and loves it for zipping around town. He said the visibility is really good, which helps in tight spots. I've got an older Fiesta and it's fine, but if I was buying new, I'd probably lean Corsa.

Anyone know if Vauxhall does a Blue Light Card discount? My wife works for the NHS and we're looking at a new Astra.

M Megan 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely do! I got a pretty decent discount on my Mokka last year using my Blue Light Card. Just make sure you mention it early when talking to the dealership or configuring online.

pretty sure they do. check their website, there's usually a section for partner discounts or specific offers for blue light card holders. it's usually applied at the point of sale, not like a promo code you enter on the site itself.

Thinking about getting an electric Mokka. What's the warranty like on the battery? Kinda worried about that failing in a few years.

S Shane Romero 3 weeks ago
They usually have a pretty long warranty specifically for the EV battery, like 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers degradation too, so if it drops below a certain percentage of its original capacity.

Yeah, the EV battery warranty is usually separate from the rest of the car and covers it for quite a while. It's standard for most manufacturers now, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
